Guest Author Interview: J.A. Saare
Please welcome today's guest author J.A. Saare! J.A. Saare is the author of Crimson Moon, A Kiss Before Dying, Moon Kissed, Soft as Moonlight, Lick of Frost, Hunger Undone, and Dead, Undead or Somewhere in Between.
EJ: When did you begin writing?
JA: I started writing in June of 2008. I was burned out of being a stay at home mom and wanted to find some kind of way to escape what had become a routine of more of the same. I found that in escaping into these worlds I created, I could make time for myself. It was an amazing adventure that quickly became an obsession.
EJ: What brought you to the paranormal genre?
JA: I’ve always been a fan of the paranormal; as far back as I can remember. There is something so exciting about creatures and characters that are not restricted in the same ways humans are. While I have started writing contemporary works recently, I will always return to the paranormal genre. It’s impossible to resist, and remains one of my favorite genres to read as well.
EJ: If you could be any paranormal or have any one supernatural talent, what would it be? Why?
JA: I’d choose a werewolf -- definitely. Werewolves have always been my favorite creature to read about, and I would love to experience what it’s like to view life through the eyes of a beast versus a woman. Of course, if I could have a supernatural talent, it would be to turn invisible. There are a lot of inventive (and mischievous) things I could do to people who aren’t aware I’m plotting something right in front of them. *smile*
EJ: Tell us why readers will enjoy your new release.
JA: Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between has a little bit of everything -- a strong female protagonist, vampires, demons, action, danger. There is even a strip club and argumentative topless dancers. Of course, the flourishing romance between Rhiannon (the voice of the book) and Disco (the vampire she can’t seem to stop thinking about) is what people seem to love most about the story. As well as the darkness of the work and the subplot involving vampire hearts, Rhiannon’s increasingly powerful necromancy, and the cliffhanger that everyone keeps talking about.
EJ: If your book(s) were being made into a movie, who would you cast for the leading roles? Why?
JA: This is one of the hardest questions to answer, because the faces I picture when I’m creating my characters are usually not based off of any celebrity -- with the exception of two of them. As I was writing Crimson Moon, I pictured Chris Evans in the role of Caleb and Cam Gigandet in the role of Derek. I don’t know why really, aside from they just seemed to fit.
If I absolutely had to choose an actress to portray Emma, I’d probably say Emily Browning. For Rhiannon, the closest I can come up with is Sophia Bush. I get a lot of requests for celebrities who look like Trent, Paine, and Disco, but they are literally impossible to place. Their faces, in my mind, are totally unique.
Dead, Undead or Somewhere in Between (Rhiannon's Law, book 1) by J.A. Saare
One bad corpse can ruin your whole day. No one knows that better than Rhiannon Murphy. She left behind the flash and sass of Miami for the no-nonsense groove of New York City, eager for a clean slate and a fresh start. A bartender by trade, a loud mouth by choice, and a necromancer by chance; she managed to keep her nifty talent hidden from those around her—until now.
The deliciously good-looking vampire, Disco, knows her secret. When he strolls into her bar to solicit help investigating the mysterious disappearances of his kind from the city, Rhiannon discovers he’s not the kind of person that appreciates the significance of the word no.
But in a world where vampires peddle their blood as the latest and greatest drug of choice, it’s only a matter of time before the next big thing hits the market. Someone or something is killing vampires to steal their hearts, and unlike Rhiannon, this isn’t their first stroll around the undead block.

ReplyDeletewhen do the dead, the undead, and undone start appearing or being heard? I believe the Lord uses them or different reasons.
ReplyDeleteWhile one person is wide awake and starts hearing the roaring in the middle of the night, she might wonder why no one else hears.
What could it mean? It could mean that the Lord has come to judge the city. And while the Lord has come to judge the the city, he may not be far from judging you--even if you are a Christian (or struggling believer).
It could also mean that while Sodom and Gamorah (sin)lie around you, the Lord is telling you it may be time to get the hell out. Most people have instinct. What could your instinct be telling you?--when things are dark in the city at night.
Lot decided to move to an evil place and in return didn't he lose part of his family because he knew it was the evil day there?-- his concubine, he lost his wife, his daughters even raped him...I am just saying that God sometimes will give signs.
Maybe it's simply because people are evil against you--maybe even your family. And if you can't find means to leave--you better pray and fast that the Lord gives you the means while he restores you to himself and safety.
The dead and undone--not right with God.
The undead--they flock together. They're safer in number. The Lord has given them the means to survive-atleast for a time for whatever reason. Because who else is undead? Is it not the vampires who are supposed to be blessed of God. They are given much to protect themselves and their families as well.
The clown. If you see a clown shoe while you are fasting and praying, that means 'leave quickly'. While he may try to trap you or kill you because in all of his humaness he believes you are wrong or something or just a louse or mooch living off of other people, the Lord is using him to say. 'leave quickly'. Why should you leave quickly? bccause someone wants to kill you and they believe they are justified.
ReplyDeleteNow should you leave and run from the clown while he's there? Hell No! Act like you are sleeping and pray pray pray. Ask God for forgivess and protection...and always lock your doors. Don't let anyone into your house.
Then start praying and fasting. Plead your case and ask God for means to get out of the situation and out of the city and out of the state.
Same with the dead, undead, and undone. Be quiet. Act like you are sleeping. You better have locked up your house. Repent and ask for protection.
ReplyDeleteNo! Don't go to the window! Pray that they can't see you, hear you, smell you, sence you...and if they get in, just keep praying silently, motionlessly, and ask the Lord to put you to sleep they even quit sencing your thought.
In the morning, fast and pray for repentence. And get the hell out of the city and state.
Change your name. Declare bankruptcy if you can't get right with your debtors...etc... etc...etc...
I'm someone who has lived a life seemingly in the background, I must say this final indignity I have suffered almost too much to endure. You see, I have been sickly and weak since the day I was born and doomed to go through all my life a weakling. I seemed to have always suffered from one illness or another and could never play with the other children as I so desperately wanted to. Mother always made such a big fuss over me, also, making the situation worse as the other boys teased me mercilessly after they saw it. I was browsing the internet searching on how i could be transformed into a powerful when i came across the email of a man named Lord Mark. who was a VAMPIRE so I told him that I has always dreamed of becoming a VAMPIRES, All i did was just to follow the procedure that i was been told, and i bet you that procedure I took change my entire life to something i ever desire, freedom, sickness free, pains free, fame, influence, connections and even more that i can. Thanks to Lord Mark. Do you want a life full of interesting things? Do you want to have power and influence over others? To be charming and desirable?
