"I could handle goblins and bogeymen and evil, flesh-eating horses, but giant freaking spiders? That's where I drew the line."
p.g 156, The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa.
The Iron Daughter is book two in The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. These books are filled with fae, both beautiful and monstrous, and things that go bump in the night. This quote made me laugh since I am a complete arachnophobe and can relate to being willing to face any dark nasty beasty...except a giant spider. Is there something, natural or paranormal, that makes you want to run and hide?
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Nice teaser, I loved this book.

I could handle the spiders better than flesh eating horses. *shiver*
ReplyDeleteI would draw the line at giant spiders as well. I don’t like the regular sized ones that keep taking up residence behind the shutters. *Shudder*
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Harry Potter: his friend Ron can handle a lot, but spiders? "I don't LIKE spiders.... :-("
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser! I haven't read this series yet but I've had my eye on it. Thanks for the follow too! I'm now following you as well!

I don't like any of those things so I've drawn the line way before the spiders! :D But the key word is giant spiders so that really does make it so much worse. Such a great teaser that definitely strikes fear in my thoughts! Nice choice!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by my blog!
