"I was a paper boat drifting in a massive night ocean."
p.g 110, Linger by Maggie Stiefvater.
"I was an open wound."
p.g 165, Linger by Maggie Stiefvater.
Linger is the second book in The Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater. Though the two lines that I chose this week are not from the same page, they are representative of the dark emotions that pervade the pages of Linger.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Lovely teaser. My TT: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/09/teaser-tuesday-the-accordionists-son.html

Great extracts - a vast improvement on 'I was a leaking womb' from Shiver! Can't wait to read this one.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting selection of teasers. I especially like the first one.
ReplyDeleteI added this book as well as the first one to my TBR pile a week or two ago. They sound like fantastic books!
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Black Dog and Rebel Rose by Danielle D. Smith (thanks to your awesome interview with her)
"She gripped the head by the hair and chucked it into a corner of the abandoned basement where she had imprisoned its owner. She listened with pleasure to the hollow thwack of it hitting the thick cement wall."
Great teasers! I love her writing style. I have this one sitting on my bookshelf- I've been meaning to read it! I hope you are enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteInteresting teasers! I like the way she writes!

ReplyDeleteThis series never caught my interest, but I hope you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteThat first teaser makes the situation sound especially daunting..
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser. I almost ordered Shiver awhile back, realized it was YA and changed my mind. Maybe I should reconsider?

ReplyDeleteGreat teaser. Very evocative. Thanks for visiting me.
ReplyDeleteI picked this up right after I finished Shiver and I couldn't get into it. I was disappointed with the POVs other than Grace and Sam. I thought if I set it aside for a while and let the memory of Shiver fade a bit, I could pick this one back up and enjoy it. Thanks for reminding me it's time to do that! (And thanks for visiting my teaser, too!)
ReplyDeleteThey do sound very dark....great teasers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by today!
