The Bite Before Christmas Giveaway: Win Blood and Mistletoe holiday Urban Fantasy by E.J. Stevens

Blood and Mistletoe (Ivy Granger #1.5) by E.J. Stevens

Holidays are worse than a full moon for making people crazy. In Harborsmouth, where many of the residents are bloodsucking vampires or monstrous fae, the combination may prove deadly.

Ivy Granger, psychic private investigator, returns to the streets of Harborsmouth in this addition to the bestselling urban fantasy series.

Holidays are Hell, a point driven home when a certain demon attorney returns with information regarding a series of bloody murders. Five Harborsmouth residents have been killed and every victim has one thing in common--they are fae. Whoever is killing faeries must be stopped, but they only leave one clue behind--a piece of mistletoe floating in a pool of the victim's blood.

The holidays just got interesting. Too bad this case may drive Ivy mad before the New Year. Heck, she'll be lucky to survive Christmas.

Blood and Mistletoe is an Ivy Granger series novella.

  1. I can't deny that i do not like going to family gatherings and family members just to gossip about each other and creating more drama then necessary, but i do love it when we me and my cousins hang out and go out on our own into the city c:

  6. I love all the lights but I hate that people are so hateful and will run you over for a deal. I also lost my dad around this time so it's not my fave.

  7. Generally, people seem friendlier as the holiday nears...mostly. I like the lights at night but haven't put any outside lights up myself so it's a treat to gather up family & friends to go view them. Baking and exchanging cookies, etc. with neighbors & pals is also something I enjoy...not to mention eating said treats...:)

I really do NOT like all the commercialization that tends to go along with the holiday no matter how it is celebrated. TV is jam-packed with urges to buy one thing or another that will supposedly make someone love you or give them the ultimate thrill...especially if it is for a child. Don't send the wrong message that all the holidays are is just to buy, buy, buy. I'm all for presents...just don't let anyone influence you to over spend.

Although this should be done every day...this time of year is for remembering those people in your life that make and made it worth living and to be kind to those people living next door even if they borrowed your chainsaw and you haven't seen it for seven years. A smile is worth a bundle & I use mine all the time when I'm around others...even those you do not know. You never know what sort of a day someone is having and your smile may be the one thing that makes their day a little nicer.

Okay...so this isn't anything new or profound...but it is wordy...:)

    1. I agree that there is so much to be thankful for. The holidays are great time for remembrance and celebration of the people (I'm looking at YOU readers) who made the past year special.

  8. There is so so much I love about this time of year. Of Christmas in general. I love the family coming together and celebrating and eating together and exchanging thoughtful gifts. I love the Christmas tree all lit up and watching all my favorite Christmas movies in my fuzzy socks with a mug of hot chocolate. Every things just wonderful!

    1. I haven't begun the marathon of Christmas movies, but A Christmas Story, Muppet's Christmas, Carol, and A Nightmare Before Christmas are queued up and ready. :)

  9. In our family, it's the puppies that get pampered with SO MANY gifts. I love to see their happy little bum wiggles when the presents come out. :)

  10. Being an agoraphobic this time of year is hell for me. I haven't been to a Shopping mall in December for 20 years. All those people and all that noise. I much prefer to sit in my nice quite home and watch holiday movies. So much safer, not to mention peaceful, that way. Thank goodness for Amazon and the UPS guy! ;-)

    1. omg, YES. I was talked into going to a shoe sale this morning. Since the store sells boots that I like, and it was a going out of business sale, I decided to tag along. It was chaos. CHAOS. The store was so packed, I found a dressing room in the back of the store and hid while I tried to get the courage to face the horde of shoppers. Never again.

  11. I dislike how crowded the streets and mall are and the people who steal your parking stop after you been looking for one for almost a half hour .

    1. A little voice in my head does its best Scrooge impersonation "Bah! Humbug!" whenever someone cuts in line during the holiday shopping season. This morning while shopping at a shoe sale, that voice was deafening.

  12. I worked in ecommerce, which is essentially retail without seeing the person for 12 years. It made me really dislike Christmas because people were so mean. You would've thought we were going out of our way to sell out of stuff just to ruin their Christmas. I'm now in a new job and slowly the joy of Christmas is coming back. I enjoy spending time with family.

    1. I worked retail while in high school and college, and your comment brought back (mostly bad) memories of the holiday shopping season. Glad to hear the joy is returning! :)

  13. Personally, I hate the guilty feeling when I give a present to someone which isn't as nice/ thoughtful/ expensive as the one they gave me.
